Forward Calls to Ivy so you never miss a lead

If your phones ring, Ivy should answer. This guide shows how to forward calls from the most common U.S. carriers to your Ivy number. Pick your provider below and follow the steps. If you get stuck, email support@callivy.com and we will walk you through it.

Quick tip: after you set forwarding, call your business line from a different phone and make sure Ivy picks up.

Testing checklist

  • Call your business number from another phone

  • Let it ring long enough to trigger your rule

  • Confirm Ivy answers and reads your greeting

  • Check caller ID passes through correctly

  • If your personal voicemail captured the call, enable “press 1 to accept” on the forwarding rule

Troubleshooting

  • Calls still go to old voicemail
Turn on “require key press” on the forwarded leg so a mobile voicemail cannot auto-answer.

  • Too many rings before Ivy
Reduce ring time on your primary device or lower the “no answer” timeout.

  • Busy callers do not reach Ivy
Enable the busy forwarding rule or use simultaneous ring.

  • After-hours behavior is wrong
Set separate business and closed hours rules. Point closed hours straight to Ivy.

FAQs

Does forwarding cost extra
Mobile carriers may charge standard airtime or long distance on forwarded legs. VoIP plans usually include it domestically. Check your plan.

Will caller ID show the original caller
Most systems can preserve caller ID. Some show the company number. Choose the option you prefer in your portal.

What if my office internet is down
Use “unreachable” or “during outage” forwarding to Ivy so calls still reach you.

Make Ivy your fail-safe

Once forwarding is in place, Ivy answers every time, books appointments, and routes urgent calls. If you want us to set this up for you, we can do it on a quick call and test live.
